Urp. Angus and I went for dinner at the Lucy Maud. The students get a meal card, which entitles them to three three-course meals, at $25 a pop. It was good, but I am stuffed, just like the chicken I had for supper. The
sacher torte was also delicious. It was no Bacon Explosion, but that's a once-a-day food, not for every meal.
So, I got offered a part-time job. At Indigo! Yup, I'm going to be shilling books. You'd think that I would have had a job in a bookstore in the 20-odd years I've been working, but no. This is the first time! I don't want to be pushy and ask if I get a discount, but it would be nice to know... Anyhow, it it's only part-time, and it would be something I would like to keep if I get a job cooking or food related this summer. I'm afraid that I'm going to blurt out 'You can just pay me in books!!!' at some point during the orientation. Eep.
I also don't have the heart to tell them that I've never read any Harry Potter or Twilight series. I also have never read any Tolkein. Will that get me fired immediately? I'm also afraid that I'll snort at anybody buying a Faulkner or Steinbeck book. Bleh.
Dance class was fun last night, although I found out that I'm much better at making salsa than I am at dancing salsa. Please help.
